AMERICANISM

On April 17th Republican women in all areas of the United States suffered a tremendous loss.  Barbara Bush passed from this Earth and entered her eternal home.  Mrs. Bush was a great advocate for Republican women and the Republican Party as a whole.  Mrs. Bush served as Second Lady of the U.S., First Lady of the U.S. and as the mother to a president.  Education was very important to her.  She made it a priority and her personal mission that all children learn to read.  She knew the importance of reading and used her platform to bring awareness and concern for literacy.  Mrs. Bush founded the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, which helped dramatically improve the literacy rates for families.  Mrs. Bush was also known for being very passionate regarding her family and beliefs.  She expressed her opinion and would not stand for her family or loved ones to be treated unfairly.  Republican women lost a great role model, and it is important we follow her footsteps by using our platforms and voices to fight for the less fortunate.
