There is a change in the voting systems to be used in the upcoming March 4th Primary election. The law now allows us to use only one voting system (paper or electronic) at each polling location. For the March 4th Primary and the Early Voting period before it, the following voting systems have been chosen.
Early voting will take place from February 18th through February 28th. Early voting will be held at the Kaufman Annex and the three County Sub-Courthouses in Kemp, Terrell and Forney. EARLY VOTING will be conducted using electronic voting equipment only.
Election Day is March 4th and all 30 polling locations in the County will be open.
ELECTION DAY voting will be conducted using paper ballots only.
Also, as required by law, a handicapped voting unit will be available at every polling
place to assist handicapped voters only.
This is a change in what voting options have been offered in the past, when voters could
choose which way they wanted to vote any time they went to the polls.
However, voters may still choose their voting system – paper or electronic – by going to
Vote Early on electronic equipment or voting Election Day with paper.
This change is required to be in compliance with the Texas Election Code.
