July 4, the birthday of this great nation, is just around the corner and the Kaufman County Republican Women are celebrating in style. The City of Kaufman is having their July 4th parade at 10:o0 a.m. on the 4th. It will begin at the high school, travel down Washington St. (St. Hwy 34), around the square, then down Grove St. to Shannon Park. At Shannon Park, the Kaufman Chamber of Commerce is having a celebration, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a water slide, rock climbing wall, games, food (provided by the American Legion) and of course, the Republican Women will have a tent. We will be passing out fans, constitutions and of course candidate literature for the runoff. Most importantly, we will be reading the constitution over a loud speaker for all to hear. With all that is going on in our country, it is important to remember our founding principles.
