For the last few months at our Saturday morning meeting we have had the privilege of meeting and hearing from our local candidates. It is very important as Republican woman to be educated in our local government and to hear from those who will be/or are currently presiding. We are grateful to all of the candidates who participated. With that being said, congratulations to those who were victorious during the primary elections and good luck to those who will be in a run-off election in May.
Please make note that our next meeting is at a different date and time. On Wednesday, March 30th, at 6:30 we will meet in Forney at the home of Amy Buyers. Please contact myself or Jody for the address. At this meeting we are going to do a couple of things. I have invited a friend of mine to bring her jewelry line for us to see and shop. It is Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski. Web site: www.touchstonecrystal.com/mamasjewels. Cappie will donate 25% of sales to our organization. Also, we are having a pot luck dinner. Amy will furnish the main dish and I will furnish the drinks so please bring sides, dips and chips and/or dessert. We are expecting our regular members and bringing a guest is encouraged. The more the better for proceeds! We are taking this month as a “get to know you better” meeting. With everyone’s schedule it seems we skip fun time together so let’s take some time from the hustle and bustle and just relax, catch up shop and eat!!!
I feel it is important to continue in the legacy that has been set before us by previous leaders within the Kaufman County Republican Woman’s organization. Our membership has faded and I am asking each one of us to bring a friend, co-worker, neighbor and even your husbands to join us in continuing this legacy. This meeting will be a good opportunity to do that. Throughout the year I will be planning some membership drives to promote growth so please work with me in building our organization to it’s full potential.
