President's Message Barbara Jo Green

2014-05-18 18.46.29As 2015 starts, many have reflected on it’s a new year with new opportunities. I am humbled that you have chosen me to lead you in this new year. Since this is my first time to be president of a TFRW club, I have found it to be especially humbling to realize that I don’t really know what to do first. I have presided over other, larger organizations, but never have I agonized more over how to start.

I have a goal, which I have carried in my heart since moving to Kaufman County and I pray that we as a club will be able to work toward that vision. The Republican Party in this county is divided as is the National Party. It doesn’t have to be that way for us.

There was a time, when Republicans in Kaufman County worked together. We elected conservative Republican officials and took the reins of leadership, but some of those conservatives felt that the leadership of the party, they had faithfully followed, had moved away from some of the conservative values this rural community still holds. It is time to revisit the neighborly ways we embraced at that time, when everyone was expected to pitch in to get things done.

I am hoping that the caring people of Kaufman County will join me as we work together for us, our neighbors, and for good government in our county.

Ladies, I would like to remind you to renew your membership for only $30.00, so you will be ready for this year of good programs and interesting changes. We also invite any interested men to be associate members for $15.00. A special membership offer is available for couples for just $45.00!!

We are also discussing changing our meeting days to a weeknight. Please send me your ideas at my email address:
