President's Message

Hello KCRW,

I hope everyone has had a remarkable summer and enjoyed some needed RnR…because now it’s now time to gear back up for some really busy times ahead for our club.

KCRW has not stopped planning and working during the summer months and has actually been busier than ever. As you know, TFRW has commissioned the entire Republican Woman’s organization across the state to register and recruit as many men, woman and children, (18 and up)! Governor Abbot sent out a request to HOLD our state RED, and that is an action of what we will do our very best to accomplish. On Monday, August 12th we will reconvene for the beginning of last part of our year. During this meeting Jimmy Weaver, our county chair, will be our guest speaker. He will be bringing a power point presentation that will help us to understand the danger our county is in losing our republican hold. After the presentation we are going to go to work by personally signing a printed invitation and hand addressing them to potentially new members and on the flip side of the flyer is our Bunco information/invitation. Please come ready to work. We will have approximately 250 flyers to send out. Tracy Gray has worked on the addresses to double check the authenticity. We feel we can reach many registered woman with these mailers hence, doing our part of this state wide campaign.

The Bunco committee has been hard at work also. The plans have been set for location, date and the necessary arrangements and planning. Thank you ladies for meeting and getting a head start on our exciting fund raiser, Bunco. We will discuss more on this during the meeting. In the mean time, save the date of September 28th and be thinking of who you will want to invite and the auction items you can donate.

October 3-5 is TFRW state convention. The state convention requires/asks, we send delegates and alternates to the convention to represent our club. The number of delegates are determined by the club size, the number of members. To date we have 38 members. With those numbers we can send 4 delegates and 4 alternates. ( I have rounded us up to 40). My self and Linda Sewell are excited to go as 2 of the 4 delegates and it would be wonderful if 2 other ladies want to volunteer or we can nominate. The same holds for the alternates. If you haven’t had an opportunity to read about the convention please take some time and go to the TFRW web site and learn about what the convention is all about. It is going to be held at the Moody Gardens in Galveston. A few years ago I experienced TFRW convention where I acquired a better understanding about TFRW and had a wonderful time meeting other ladies around our great state.

So, as I began, we have a lot going forward in the months ahead. Great things, fun things that will require all hands on deck. We are growing and expanding and it is a bit painful at times but what we are doing is making great strides within our county and standing Republican Strong.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on August 12th. Always remember we are excited to welcome new guests and potential members so ask a friend, neighbor and/or co-worker to attend with you.

See you soon,
Sandra
