President's Message

Welcome to Spring!  It really is my favorite time of year, the chill leaves the air, it’s my birthday and baseball usually starts back up.  This year baseball is a bit delayed but it’s still looking a lot like Spring.

Things are happening in and around Kaufman County.  I try to keep you updated but if you know of something I don’t mention, please let me know.  This weekend Lone Star Casa is having a bunco fundraiser (March 19).  Next weekend REACH Child placing Agency is having its annual casino night (March 25).  Also next weekend Kaufman County Day will be happening in Austin (March 27-28).

TFRW is sponsoring a contest for Volunteer Deputy Registrar.  The club with the highest percentage of Volunteer Deputy Registrars will receive a crystal pen for every member.  There is no cost, you can study the materials online and contact our elections administrator, Tandi Smith, to take the test.  Here are links:

https://www.sos.texas.gov/elections/forms/exam-volunteer-deputy-registrars.pdf#search=volunteer%20deputy%20registrar

Deadline for getting credit for deputy registrars is April 31.

TFRW is also asking for our help reaching out to Republican Women in our area who are not club members.  TFRW has a list of over 1500 women in our area.  We need a commitment from our club as to how many we will contact.  TFRW provides us with contact information and postcards to send.  After the cards have gone out they are asking us to contact them by text or email to follow up.  If you’re interested I helping with this project let me know and we’ll set up a party to prepare the cards for mailing.  The time is reportable as campaign hours so that also helps our club!  The project is from April 1 through May 31.

Finally, TFRW is sponsoring a Volunteer Engagement Program (VEP) Its a calling program directly through TFRW.  Sign up through them, there’s a short zoom training and then start making phone calls.

I look forward to sharing Spring with you!
