President's Message

Hello KCRW,
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed going to TFRW convention last week. I have met some interesting, fun loving woman from our surrounding counties who are as Republican as we are..I love meeting like minded people who stand for the same cause and who’s purpose is to keep Texas Red and to secure our President a second term in the White House. The Republican woman of this state are working full force to see that happen. It is going to take us all working toward that goal to see it come to fruition. We must hold firm and keep Democrat’s from over taking what we hold so dear.

Saying this, I want to reach out to those who want to be active in getting those registered to vote in the primary election. On Tuesday mornings at the Annex building there are classes where you can become a registrar and have the ability to reach out to those who are not yet registered voters. It is set by appointment so I will need to know who can attend. It begins at 10:00 and only takes about 30-45 minutes. Now the catch is to register REPUBLICANS. So there is a petition to get Trump on the ballot and if they are willing to sign that they are republican. So, I will see about acquiring those petitions for our club. There is so much work to do and we are just the ladies to do it. The common thread throughout convention with all the guest speakers was the importance of us, the Republican Woman of Texas. We are making a difference. So let’s make sure Kaufman county does it’s part.

On Saturday, October 26th, we are participating in the Scarecrow Festival. It is my understanding that we are going to have a float in the parade, it will be the “Register to Vote Float”. After the parade we will have a table set on the square to be able to register people and show our support and have a place in Kaufman. I am going to circulate a sign up sheet at the Monday meeting so be thinking of the time you will want to work. The Scarecrow Festival is a lot of fun and you will not want to miss this.

It is very important for all club members to attend this months meeting on the 14th. We will be voting in new officers and I’m sure you will want to be a part of this. The slate of officers presented is as follows: President: Amy Tarno, 1st VP of programs: Tracy Gray, 2nd VP of Legislative: Courtney Wortham, 3rd VP of campaign activities: Devon Murphey, 4th VP of Publicity, Bailey McCormack, Secretary: Audia Davis, Treasurer: Monica Beavers

Hal Richards will be our guest speaker and will be presenting the information regarding the bond package that we will be voting on. All associates and guests are welcome.
We will be serving dinner as usual so come ready to eat and have a great meeting.
This will be our last official meeting of the year. In October we start collecting dues for 2020 and we need to have all dues for membership collected by December. The cost remains at 35.00 for membership and 20.00 for associates.

The executive committee has met and planned the remainder of the year for our Thanksgiving dinner and our Christmas party. Details will be revealed this meeting.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Monday evening.
