Presidents' Message

The “first 100 days” is a term that was coined in a radio address by FDR in 1933; although President Roosevelt was referring to a 100-day session of the US Congress. Today, the “first 100 days” of a first-term presidency of a President of the United States means something different. The term is used to describe the measure of the successes and accomplishments of a president during the time that the president’s power and influence are at their greatest.

President Trump has made many accomplishments in his first 100 days and is striving to continue to push through his agenda. To name a few of them: selection, appointment, and confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch; withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership; supporting the Keystone Pipeline and removing more than two million criminal illegal immigrants.

We are proud of President Trump and all our elected officials. At our April, Republican Women’s meeting we had Justice Lang who is seeking re-election to the Dallas 5th District Court of Appeal speak to our club. We also had Pam Corder give an interesting account of the courthouse and other Kaufman County historical information. Great meeting!

Next meeting will be at the Farm Bureau on the 3rd Saturday, which is May 20, 2017. Look forward to seeing you all there- as we plan the remainder of the year and get ready to help our local officials in 2018.
