Ladies, I want to give you an update from the executive meeting held regarding the Bunco event on Saturday, October 13th. We are going to follow last year’s schedule of events. There will be auction items, a potato supper and wine and cheese. The committees have been formed and you may be getting a call from them asking for your assistance for this fund raiser. Please be open to helping so we can make this successful. One of the main things to make this successful will be having people there. Make your list of who you will be inviting and do so. We need to get this onto as many calendars as possible. Ask your friends, family and acquaintances to attend but to first save this date. As it approaches it will get lost with so many busy lives and obligations.
So that’s the first thing, invite, invite, invite. Ticket sales for individual tickets are $30.00.
That brings me to the next item. By us selling sponsorships, that is where we will make our money. Here is the list of sponsorship:
DICE SPONSORSHIP: $100= 2 TICKETS AND THEIR NAME WILL BE ON A POSTER RECOGNIZING THEM AS SPONSORS WITH OTHER DICE SPONSORS
GHOST-RIDER SPONSOR: $250.00= 4 TICKETS OR ONE TABLE. THEY WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES PLACED ON A TABLE AND ON THE BACK OF THE RULES THAT WILL BE PLACED AT EACH TABLE.
ACES SPONSOR: $500.00= 8 TICKETS, OR TWO TABLES, THEY WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES PLACED ON TWO TABLES. THEIR NAMES WILL BE LISTED ON THE BACK OF THE SCORE CARD THAT IS PLACED AT EACH TABLE.
BUNCO SPONSOR: $1000.00= 12 TICKETS OR 3 TABLES. THEY WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES PLACED ON THREE TABLES . THEIR NAME WILL BE LISTED ON THE BACK OF EACH BUNCO CARD.
When you sell the sponsorships you will need to keep a record of who you have sold it to, a contact number and the names of the people who will be setting at that table. We will check them in at the front table upon entering into the bunco area. Monica Beavers and Amy Tarno are the ticket committee so you will need to turn your names into them around October 6th. This helps them to be pre-checked so table members are not charged at the door for a ticket.
AUCTION ITEMS!!!! Gather auction items. Please help with this section of the evening by providing auction items. Last year we were very successful with the auction and I can only expect our second year to be even better. If you have any questions about what you think would be a good item, ask yourself if you would bid on it or not and then decide. We can group things together and make one item, so nothing is really too small. Please commit to this so we can use this section of the evening for great gain for the club. It is a ton of fun. Rhonda Hughey and Bailey Smith are the committee chairs for the auction items. Please contact them.
Trina Lopez and Linda Sewell are the committee for food. Again this year we will have baked potatoes with all the fixings. Last year we, as each club member, brought a bagged Caesar salad and/or a dessert. Please contact these ladies and let them know which you will be bringing. It is very important for them to know so we will be evenly balanced.
This evening will only be a success if we ALL work together. Last year we raised an approximate $8000.00!!!! that’s amazing. With this money we can help our candidates with the debt they acquire during their campaigns.
Ok, I have one other topic I need your help with. Membership. I received an email from TFRW (Texas Federation of Republican Woman) asking us help get more members before the end of the year. We are down from last year at this time and we need to keep our state RED. So, here’s the special. We are offering $50.00 for two years. Our membership price is normally $35.00 so if you bring on a new member for 2018/2019 we will discount the membership price by $20.00. This will have to apply to our September meeting because the numbers are reported in October. The member who brings the most new members will get their dues paid for 2019. That’s a $35.00 savings to you.
Our September meeting will again be at Alfredo’s in Forney off of US 80. Brenda Samples will be bringing the program and will be explaining the voting process for Kaufman county and we will have an opportunity to be deputized to register voters. I’m very excited to bring this opportunity to our club before the November primary. We have numerous republican candidates with Democrat opponents. So, getting people registered beforehand will help our candidates. Meeting date is Monday, September 10th @ 6:30. You can order and eat there as well.
I know this is a lot of information but we are winding down the year and there is still a lot of work to be done. Bunco is our only fundraiser and we can’t have a club without members…I’m counting on you!!!!
